-Tony P.\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/i\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eShaper: \u003cbr\u003eJason Zawadzki and Team\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eEarly 2016, I was approached by my friends and racers Joe Threadgil and Brett Saquid to make an elite race board that would compete with the fastest boards in the world out of our proprietary Armalight.   My first response was the truth, I didn't know if we could do it.   I knew that our Elysium model was fast and riders love it, but to make a board that was as fast as the fastest elite boards in the world was a lot of pressure.   \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eBrett and Joe made the point that the ultralight board fad seemed to be dying out as people realized that ultra-light also means ultra-fragile and ultra-expensive and doesn't necessarily equate to a faster board.  This is especially true if there is any wind or roughness to the water.   \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eSo, the first thing I did was hit the books and put in weeks of research.  I studied the fastest Olympic race kayaks, speedboats, underwater missiles, and of course other race boards.   Hull Shapes, water release points, rocker lines, and finding the balance between stability and speed.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eWe started building and testing prototypes.  Every little detail counts and there are so many variables that you have to consider.  The small difference of just seconds could be the difference between1st place or a 7th place finish.  \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eWhat we came up with is what we call our Mad Max Elite Racer.   The name came easy.  We joked that, because of its durability, you could run other racers right off the racecourse.   \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eThe shape is as unique as everything else that we do around here.  We borrowed our hybrid displacement\/planing hull design from our Elysium but with more of an emphasis on channeling water down the entire length of the board versus allowing it to be displaced off the rails.  Then we used carbon fiber to stiffen certain areas to give the ideal flex pattern and weight.  \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eFinally, our work resulted in a board that rides high and swiftly in the water. The Mad Max time-tested faster in various conditions than any other board we tried.   It performs extremely well in flat water, open ocean, and downwind conditions.   For a stronger paddler, meaning a rider who has trained to win a race, we are convinced this board is the fastest board we can build and that you will love it!
