Angela is living proof that strength isn’t just physical—it’s a mindset. In 2002, she survived a near-fatal head-on collision, waking up to a devastating prognosis: she might never walk again. But giving up was never in her nature. With grit, determination, and a deep belief in the power of movement, she chose a different path—one of healing, growth, and purpose. Today, after countless surgeries and years of relentless work, Angela is not only walking—she’s thriving.

For over a decade, Angela poured her passion into the fitness world as the owner of Orcas Athletics & CrossFit. There, she coached athletes of all ages and levels, helping them move better, feel stronger, and believe in themselves. Her resume is impressive—Level 2 CrossFit certified, with specialties in Gymnastics, Weightlifting, Scaling, Yoga, and Reiki—but it’s her energy, empathy, and ability to connect that truly set her apart. Her coaching style is grounded in the belief that movement is medicine and strength is for everyone.

At Hydrus, Angela brings that same fire and dedication to every corner of the business. From customer service and shipping to content creation and creative direction, she plays an essential role in shaping the Hydrus experience. She’s the voice answering your questions, the hands packing your gear, and the heart behind many of the brand’s stories. With a deep eye for quality and a love for the outdoors, she helps ensure that every customer feels seen, supported, and ready to take on their own adventure.

Angela’s commitment to wellness and community runs deep. In 2014, she joined the Board of Trustees for Safe San Juans, a nonprofit focused on ending domestic violence and sexual assault. As Board Chair, and beyond her official term, she’s continued to advocate for healing, education, and meaningful social change. That same drive to uplift and empower people is a core part of her work at Hydrus.

Beyond her professional life, Angela is also a loving and committed partner to Hydrus founder Jason Zawadzki. Together, they’ve built more than a business—they’ve built a shared life rooted in trust, teamwork, adventure, and an unshakable belief in the power of doing meaningful work, together.
