Limited Lifetime Warranty
Manufacturing Defects, Covered for Life.
Built to last. Backed for life. Here's how it works.

If your Hydrus board fails because of how we built it, we make it right. No registration to fill out, no fine print waiting to trip you up. That's the part most paddleboard brands won't put in writing.
Wear, sun, and impact can eventually win against any board. A board reaching the end of its life after years of paddling is normal, not something you did wrong. When that happens, the Hydrus Care Program steps in: free evaluation, free minor repairs, fair pricing on bigger ones.
Manufacturing defects are covered for life. For the first five years, coverage goes further and includes premature wear like early seam wear or valve aging. After that, wear and aging move to the Hydrus Care Program. We're here for all of it.
How It Works
Three Parts. One Warranty.
The Lifetime Part
Manufacturing defects mean failures that exist because of how the board was made, not because of how it was used. A seam separating under normal paddling. A valve that fails without cause. Structural issues unrelated to impact. Material delamination that wasn't caused by storage or sun.
These failures are rare, and they tend to show up in the first year or two if they exist at all. But if a defect surfaces in year seven, we still cover it. Repair or replace. When both are options, the choice is yours. When only one makes sense, we'll tell you why. No paperwork beyond proof you're the original owner.
One honest note, because it matters. A seam or valve that lets go after many seasons on the water can often be the material reaching the end of its life, not a defect in how it was built, and not something you did wrong. In this category, a lot of boards don't make it past a few seasons, so a Hydrus that's given you five-plus years is doing exactly what it was built to do. Here's the good part: most of these are fixable, and we'll take care of the repair with you, free for minor fixes and fair pricing for bigger ones. Only if a board truly can't be repaired does the Care Program step in to get you onto a newer, better board at a real discount. A defect is different. It comes from how the board was made, it tends to show up early, and it's covered for life.
This is the part of the warranty that stays in place for as long as you own the board.
The Five-Year Part
For the first five years, we cover more than just defects. Issues like premature seam wear, traction pad adhesion failure, or valve aging that happens faster than it should are covered fully.
After five years, manufacturing defects stay covered for life. Wear-related issues move to the Hydrus Care Program, where we still help.
The Third Part
The Hydrus Care Program
This is the part most warranties don't have.
When your board has an issue that isn't a defect, wear from years of hard paddling, impact damage, sun degradation from being stored outside, a traction pad lifting after seven seasons, we still want you on water. Care is how we make that happen.
Free Evaluation
Send us photos or ship us the board. We'll tell you exactly what's going on. No charge.
Free Minor Repairs
Quick fixes are on us. You cover shipping.
Discounted Major Repairs
Bigger issues get fair pricing, well below what you'd pay anywhere else. Often well below replacement cost.
Replacement Discount
If repair isn't possible, you can buy a new Hydrus board at up to 50% off our lowest advertised price.
Care applies to original owners. Order confirmation or serial number required. Not available for commercial-use products or second-hand purchases.
What We Don't Cover
Most failures over time aren't defects. They're the board doing its job for a long time, then reaching the end of what materials can handle.
We don't cover impact damage from drops, collisions, or dragging across rocks. Normal wear and tear from years of use. UV damage from storage in direct sun. Commercial use including rentals, tours, and lessons. Boards purchased second-hand. We also don't cover damage caused by modifications or by repairs done incorrectly by someone other than Hydrus. Having someone else work on your board does not by itself void this warranty. It only means we can't cover a problem that a modification or an outside repair actually caused.
Gray zone? Send us photos. We evaluate every claim individually and tell you honestly what we see. If it's wear and not a defect, we still help through the Care Program. Either way, you'll know where you stand.
Traction Pads: A Note
Traction pads are adhesive-bonded to the deck. After years of sun, heat, and hard use, edges or corners can start to lift. That's normal wear, not a defect. We'll walk you through how to glue it back down yourself in about five minutes with contact cement or marine adhesive.
A full traction pad separating from the deck shortly after purchase is a different situation. That one's a manufacturing issue and it's covered. But a corner lifting after years of paddling is maintenance, like waxing a surfboard or re-gripping a golf club. We'll show you exactly how to fix it.
A Small Leak? Often a Quick Fix.
Every Hydrus board ships with a patch kit, and most small leaks or pinholes take just a few minutes to fix at home. Not sure where the leak is coming from or how to patch it? Text or email us and we'll happily walk you through it step by step. If you'd rather we handle it, send it in and we'll take care of it. And if you've already used your kit or want a spare on hand, you can grab one anytime on our site.

How to Reach the Crew
If you have any issue with any Hydrus product, reach out. Don't stress about which part of the warranty applies. Tell us what happened and we'll figure out the best path forward together.
The fastest way to get help: find your serial number on the bottom of the board near the fin box (it starts with LW or LE), snap a photo or short video of the issue, and note roughly when you bought it. Send that over and we'll come back with your options.
A real person answers. We got you.
This is Hydrus Board Tech's Limited Lifetime Warranty. It applies to Hydrus boards purchased new, directly from Hydrus or an authorized seller, by the original owner. "Lifetime" means for as long as the original purchaser owns the board. This warranty is non-transferable and does not apply to boards purchased second-hand. This Limited Lifetime Warranty applies to boards purchased in 2021 or later. Boards purchased before 2021 were sold under the warranty terms in effect at the time of purchase; if you own a pre-2021 board, contact us and we will honor the coverage that applied when you bought it.
Hydrus warrants that your board is free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. If a covered defect appears, Hydrus will, at its option and at no charge for parts and labor, repair or replace the board. Repair or replacement is your sole and exclusive remedy under this warranty. If that remedy is found to fail of its essential purpose, or is not available to you under the law of your state, Hydrus's liability is limited to the purchase price you paid for the board. To make a claim, contact the Hydrus Crew at crew@hydrusboardtech.com or (208) 408-1997 with your name, proof of purchase or serial number, and a photo or video of the issue. Hydrus determines in good faith whether an issue is a covered manufacturing defect or the result of wear, misuse, accident, or improper storage.
Any implied warranties, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited in duration to the duration of this written warranty. To the extent permitted by law, Hydrus is not liable for any incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of, or the inability to use, any Hydrus product. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, or the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state. If you are a California resident, nothing in this warranty limits or waives any right you have under the California Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, and any implied warranty that cannot lawfully be limited to the duration of this written warranty remains in effect for the period that law requires. Hydrus has been building boards in Idaho since 2012.
