10' Coil Paddleboard Leash
A leash is the simplest safety gear you put on before you get on your board. Wind picks up, you fall, a current catches you: without a leash, your board is already 20 feet away and moving. This 9-foot coiled leash keeps it attached to you, so you can get back on without a swim.
The cuff is adjustable. Most paddlers wear it around the upper calf, right below the knee. That keeps the leash a little further from your feet and gives you a cleaner release if it ever snags and you need to get it off fast. Prefer the ankle? It fits there too, no calf tan line required.
One honest limit: do not use this leash in fast-moving rivers where snags and entrapment are possible. In moving water, you need a leash attached to a quick-release safety belt or a purpose-built quick-release leash system. For everything else, flatwater, lakes, ocean, touring, and windy days, this leash is the right call.
Why This One
- 10-foot coiled length, compact when slack and out of your way while you paddle
- Adjustable cuff fits around your upper calf, right below the knee: keeps the leash further from your feet and easier to release fast if it snags
- Ankle fit also works if you would rather skip the calf tan line
- Keeps your board close in wind, current, and after a fall
Perfect For (And Not For)
- Flatwater: lakes, ponds, bays, calm water
- Ocean and coastal paddleboarding
- Touring and longer distance paddles
- Any day the wind or current could push your board away
- Fast-moving rivers or any moving water where snags and entrapment are possible
