Most paddleboard brands spend their marketing money the obvious way. They buy ads on Google. They buy ads on Meta. They pay platforms to interrupt strangers who don't paddle and have never thought about a paddleboard.
We chose differently. Not because we're against advertising. Because the math doesn't add up.
Money spent on ads goes to platforms. Money spent on paddlers goes to people who actually own these boards, actually ride them, and actually talk about them with friends who actually paddle. The first is interruption. The second is invitation.
When you join the Crew and share your code, you're not collecting a loyalty perk. You're the marketing channel. We just think that's where the budget belongs.
How the Crew works.
Step 1
You apply.
Own a Hydrus board. Fill out a short application. Jason or Angela reads it personally. We don't auto-approve. We approve people we actually want in the Crew.
Step 2
You get a code.
When you're in, we send you a personal discount code. Share it with friends. They get 10% off any Hydrus board.
Step 3
You earn credit.
When a friend buys with your code, you get 10% in-store credit. Use it for more gear, parts, accessories, or save it toward your next board.
Step 4
You join the build.
We're growing the Crew into something bigger. First looks at new boards. Pre-sale access. A direct line to Jason and Angela. You're in early, which means you help shape what this becomes.

We're building the Crew by hand because we want it to feel like what it actually is. A small group of paddlers who got involved with the brand early. As it grows, we want to keep that feeling.
If you're in, we'll know your name. If you reach out, we'll know your board. That's the part most companies have given up on. We haven't.
