Shipping / Warranty Policies

Shipping, Returns & Warranty

Clear policies. No corporate runaround. Just honest support from people who paddle.

We build boards to last and we take care of the people who ride them. These policies reflect how we actually operate: straightforward, fair, and always in your corner. If you ever have a question or an issue, text us or email us first. We'll figure it out together.

Shipping

Free Shipping on Orders $100+

All orders over $100 ship free within the continental United States. Orders typically ship within 1-2 business days. Most boards arrive within 3-7 business days depending on your location.

Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico & Canada

We ship to AK, HI, PR, and Canada at discounted rates. Shipping cost is calculated at checkout. International orders may be subject to customs duties and taxes, which are the responsibility of the buyer.

Pre-Orders

Some boards sell out during peak season. When a board is available for pre-order, your order reserves one from the next production batch. Estimated ship dates are listed on the product page. We'll email you with updates as your board gets closer to shipping.

30-Day Trial

Every Hydrus board comes with a 30-day trial from the date of delivery. We want you to paddle it, live with it, and make sure it's the right board for you.

Returns

If the board isn't right for you, you can return it within 30 days for a full refund of the purchase price. You cover return shipping. If the board is in like-new, unused condition, no restocking fee applies.

If the board has been used and shows signs of wear, a 10% restocking fee applies. We'll let you know before processing so there are no surprises.

Exchanges

Not sure you picked the right model? You can exchange your board for a different one within 30 days. You cover return shipping and any difference in price. If you're exchanging because we helped you pick a board and it wasn't the right fit, we'll work with you to make it right.

Need More Time?

If it's still too cold to paddle, or life gets in the way, let us know when you order and we can be flexible with the 30-day window. Just reach out in advance and we'll take care of it.

Accessories

Accessories (paddles, pumps, leashes, apparel) can be returned within 30 days in unused, original condition for a full refund. You cover return shipping.

Lifetime Warranty on Manufacturing Defects

Our philosophy is simple: if your board fails because of how we built it, we take care of it. Period. No time limit.

All inflatable and hard boards (purchased in 2021 or later) are backed by a limited lifetime warranty for the original owner. This warranty covers manufacturing and material defects for as long as you own the board.

What's Covered (For Life)

Manufacturing or material defects. This means issues that exist because of how the board was made, not because of how it was used. Examples:

  • Seam separation or failure under normal use conditions
  • Structural issues unrelated to impact or misuse
  • Material delamination not caused by improper storage or UV damage
  • Valve failure under normal use

If your board fails because of a manufacturing defect, whether it's year 1 or year 8, we fix it or replace it. A true manufacturing defect reveals itself regardless of time. If the defect was there from day one, it's our responsibility. That's what a lifetime warranty means.

What's Not Covered

Every material has a natural lifespan. PVC degrades over time with UV exposure, heat cycles, and years of hard use. At some point, wear isn't a defect. It's a board that did its job for a long time. The following are not manufacturing defects:

  • Impact damage: drops, collisions, dragging across rocks
  • Normal wear and tear: scratches, scuffs, fading from years of use
  • UV damage or degradation from improper storage (stored inflated in direct sun, etc.)
  • Commercial use: rentals, tours, lessons
  • Unauthorized modifications or repairs
  • Boards purchased second-hand or through unauthorized sellers

A Note on Traction Pads

Traction pads are adhesive-bonded to the deck. Over time with UV exposure, heat, and years of use, edges or corners can start to lift. This is normal wear, not a defect. If a corner peels up, it's usually an easy fix. We can walk you through how to glue it back down yourself in about five minutes with some contact cement or marine adhesive. It's simple and we're happy to help you through it.

A full traction pad separating from the deck shortly after purchase is a different situation and would be covered under warranty. But a corner lifting after years of hard use? That's just maintenance, like waxing a surfboard or re-gripping a golf club. We'll show you exactly how to fix it.

How to Tell the Difference

We know the gray zone exists. A seam that separates after 6 months is clearly a defect. A seam that separates after 8 years of hard river use might just be the material reaching its natural life. That's why we evaluate every claim individually. Text us or email us with photos and we'll give you an honest assessment. If it's a defect, we cover it. If it's wear, we still help through our Extended Care Program below.

Extended Care Program

This is what makes our warranty different from everyone else's.

Even when the issue isn't a manufacturing defect, even after years of hard use, we still want to help. The Extended Care Program is our commitment to long-term support for original owners.

For 2026 and Newer Boards: 5-Year Full Coverage

Starting with our 2026 lineup, we've extended our full coverage period to 5 years from date of purchase. Our latest materials and construction advances give us the confidence to stand behind these boards even longer. During the first 5 years, if anything goes wrong, including wear-related issues like seam wear or traction pad adhesion, we'll take care of it. After 5 years, manufacturing defects are still covered for life. Wear-related issues are supported through the Extended Care Program below.

For 2025 and Earlier Boards: 3-Year Full Coverage

Boards purchased before 2026 have a 3-year full coverage period. Those boards were built with excellent materials, but our 2026 construction represents a significant advancement. After 3 years, manufacturing defects are still covered for life. Wear-related issues are supported through the Extended Care Program.

Extended Care (After Full Coverage Period)

Once your board is past the full coverage period (5 years for 2026+, 3 years for pre-2026), our Extended Care Program provides:

Free Evaluation
We inspect your board and diagnose the issue at no charge. Send us photos or ship us the board and we'll tell you exactly what's going on.
Free Minor Repairs
If it's a quick fix, we handle it. You just cover shipping.
Discounted Major Repairs
For more serious damage, we offer fair pricing well below what you'd pay anywhere else.
Replacement Discount
If repair isn't possible, you can buy a new board at up to 50% off our lowest advertised price, plus shipping.
