Hyper River Surfboard
Hyper River Surf
The Hyper River Surfboard is shaped to be a functional, true river surfing board. The parallel rails maximize speed. The wide diamond shaped nose and tail allow for a shorter board with maximum surface area blending higher-performance with a board that will stay in the wave and not get flushed out as easily.
The diamond tail shape allows a clean release point for trailing water, enhancing speed, and it provides a small radius for turns and rail to rail quickness.
The rocker line is fast with a slightly kicked up tail and naturally graduated nose. Nice and smooth.
We build all of our river surfboards right around 2 3/8" thick with a tapered nose, tail, and high-performance rails. We've tried all shapes and sizes over the years so the sizes, thickness, rail shapes, and rocker lines have been pretty well honed.
Some people tell us that a thicker board is better. Then some people prefer skimboard thin. We've found that a thicker board doesn't seem to stay in the wave that much better but it can negatively affect performance and a board that's too thin can make it difficult to paddle and ferry if you need to.
General Hydrus River Surfboard details:
Generally speaking, river surfboards come as a "catch 22". If a board is high- performance it's generally fragile and will break on rocks. If it's durable it is generally a slug with no performance at all.
All of our river surfboards are high-performing, and really durable all packaged up nice and neat.
The PB&J, X-Wing and Hyper models all come in various lengths and widths. So you may choose your board depending on your personal riding style, rider weight, ability, wave shape and river flow.
