Armalight Air construction

Heat-fused 3-layer fusion composite shell. Not glued. The composite hardens into a single bonded structure that flexes less than dual-layer competitors at the same PSI.

FusionWeave Dropstitch core

The stiffest inflatable structure in our lineup. Densely-woven internal threads connect top and bottom skin. The board reaches hardboard-level rigidity at 12 to 15 PSI without needing to chase 31 PSI.

Welded seams

Permanently bonded, not chemically glued. Eliminates the long-term seam delamination that ends most inflatable boards by year three.

Wide stable footprint

11 foot 6 inch by 34 inch deck. The width carries weight, the length tracks straight. Stable enough for first-time paddlers, kids riding along, dogs on the bow, or all-day fishing setups.

Same speed in our internal tests. The XL adds 6 inches of length and 2 inches of width over the standard JoyRide, but the rocker profile and FusionWeave Dropstitch core are identical. Empirically the boards finish flat-water sprints within a stroke of each other. The XL trades zero speed for the extra stability and capacity.

Solo and at or under 225 lbs? Get the standard JoyRide: same speed, quicker to turn. Over 225 lbs, or loading the deck with kids, dogs, and gear? Get the JoyRide XL: 2 inches wider, 400 lb total capacity, and the most stable deck we build for yoga and family sessions. Same Armalight Air build and lifetime warranty on manufacturing defects either way.

Yes. The XL rolls down to the same packed dimensions as the standard JoyRide and fits inside every Hydrus Mothership Backpack. The backpack ships in the box with every Hydrus iSUP.

Total capacity is 400 lbs of paddler + gear. Real-world setup: 220 lb paddler + 60 lb cooler + 80 lb dog + 40 lb fishing kit = 400 lbs and the board still rides cleanly.

Different boards for different paddlers. JoyRide XL is the family stability board: 34 inch wide deck, 11 foot 6 inch length, all-around shape. Paradise is the touring board: 30 inch narrower deck, 12 foot 6 inch length, faster glide on big water. If the household needs one board everyone can paddle without thinking, JoyRide XL. If the primary paddler wants distance over flat water, Paradise.

12 to 15 PSI for typical use. The board is pressure-tested to 31 PSI but you do not need that much for stiffness. The FusionWeave Dropstitch core gets you to hardboard-level rigidity well below the max.
